Meghan Moriarty, Action News Jax
Anchor/Reporter
Meghan Moriarty is an award-winning Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter for Action News Jax. She joined the team in August 2019.
During her time in the River City, she’s covered several notable stories, including the trial for the death of Ahmaud Arbery, Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, and sat down with the victim of a human trafficking investigation in Jacksonville.
Her reporting on a chain restaurant drink linked to the death of a Clay County man won an award from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists. The beverage was later taken off the restaurant’s menu.
The New Jersey native previously worked for the NBC station in Charlottesville, Virginia. There, Moriarty covered several national stories, including the 2017 Unite the Right Rally, where white supremacists, holding lit tiki torches, clashed with counter-protesters.
Prior to reporting, Moriarty worked for the CBS affiliate, in Washington D.C. She also spent time as a White House intern in 2015, assisting with the coordination of the press pool.
She is a proud University of Maryland graduate.
When she's not on the job, you can find her training for her next race or running with a local run club. If you have a story idea or a book recommendation, email mmoriarty@actionnewsjax.com.
