1. Olympics Opening Ceremony Today!

The official start to the Summer Olympics is finally here! The opening ceremony begins today at 10:30 a.m. PT/ 1:30 p.m. ET. It is expected to last approximately 4.5 hours. The primetime encore of the opening ceremony will air at 7:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. CT, 6:30 p.m. MT and 7:30 p.m. PT.

While past ceremonies have been held in stadiums, this time athletes will arrive via boat.

They’ll cruise down the River Seine, passing multiple Parisian landmarks, such as Notre-Dame and the Louvre. The procession begins under the Austerlitz Bridge next to Jardin des Plantes and ends near the Eiffel Tower at the Trocadéro, where French president Emmanuel Macron will give a speech and the Olympic torch will be lit.

3. Court Rules: Chicken Wings Advertised As Boneless Can Have Bones

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that chicken wings advertised as boneless can have bones.

The court rejected claims by a restaurant patron who suffered serious medical complications when a bone stuck in his throat.

Michael Berkheimer was dining with his wife and friends at a wing joint and had ordered the usual—boneless wings with parmesan garlic sauce—when he felt a bite-size piece of meat go down the wrong way. Three days later, feverish and unable to keep food down, Berkeimer went to the emergency room, where a doctor discovered a long, thin bone that had torn his esophagus and caused an infection.

He sued the restaurant, Wings on Brookwood, saying it failed to warn him that “boneless wings”—which are, of course, nuggets of boneless, skinless breast meat—could contain bones. The suit also named the supplier and the farm that produced the chicken, claiming all were negligent. In a 4-3 ruling, the Supreme Court said Thursday that “boneless wings” refers to a cooking style, and that Berkheimer should have been on guard against bones since it’s common knowledge that chickens have bones. The high court sided with lower courts that had dismissed Berkheimer’s suit.
