Chris Stapleton was spotted on Tuesday, August 2, at Walmart in Prestonburg, Kentucky buying supplies for victims of the recent floods that have hit eastern Kentucky.
Chris Stapleton is loved in eastern Kentucky b/c he’s from Johnson County and he’s immensely talented. But also b/c of this. That’s Chris in the Prestonsburg Walmart buying stuff for folks and cleaning houses in Knott County. David Smith said Chris went unnoticed for awhile. 😀 pic.twitter.com/WbS1dMT2cP

Stapleton, a Kentucky native, routinely uses his musical talents and platform to raise money for his home state.
In April, he held “A Concert for Kentucky,” an event that featured Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson and Family. That event, which took place at the University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field, raised $1 million for his Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund.
The flooding in eastern Kentucky began with heavy rains early on Thursday (July 28). According to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, the death toll in the eastern Kentucky flooding is at 37 as of Tuesday morning (August 2).
