Chris Stapleton heads to his home state of Kentucky to help with flood relief

Chris Stapleton was spotted on Tuesday, August 2, at Walmart in Prestonburg, Kentucky buying supplies for victims of the recent floods that have hit eastern Kentucky.

Stapleton, a Kentucky native, routinely uses his musical talents and platform to raise money for his home state.

In April, he held “A Concert for Kentucky,” an event that featured Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson and Family. That event, which took place at the University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field, raised $1 million for his Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund.

The flooding in eastern Kentucky began with heavy rains early on Thursday (July 28). According to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, the death toll in the eastern Kentucky flooding is at 37 as of Tuesday morning (August 2).
