Sag Harbor, New York cop Michael Arkinson was named Officer of the Year.
That name might not mean anything to you, but Arkinson became a minor celebrity last summer, when he arrested Justin Timberlake for drunk driving.
That collar probably didn’t snag Arkinson the award. At least not on its own. He’s only a rookie and he led the department in arrests and summonses.
He was honored for making, quote, “an immediate impact within the department and the community.”
His being a rookie led to a now-famous interaction with Justin during the arrest, though . . . because he was too young to recognize him.
Justin told him, quote, “This is going to ruin the tour.” Arkinson replied, “What tour?” And Justin said, quote, “The world tour.” (TMZ)
