A Kansas City high school senior is heading to New Orleans to watch the Chiefs in Super Bowl 59, thanks to NFL star Travis Kelce.
Javion Mahone met Kelce years ago through Operation Breakthrough’s Ignition Lab, a program funded by Kelce’s 87 and Running Foundation. He built a meaningful connection with the three-time Super Bowl champion over his time training with the program. Now a senior at Hogan Preparatory Academy, he played football as a wide receiver and strong safety, but his bond with Kelce goes beyond the sport. Mahone shares that they often talk about life, discussing how to handle challenges and pressures. He considers Kelce a role model and credits him with inspiring him to take life seriously and make the most of every opportunity.
Kelce recognized Mahone’s leadership and ambition by gifting him tickets to the February 9th game, where he plans to attend with his little brother and their mom.
