At a city commission meeting for St. Augustine Beach , the commissioners voted unanimously to cancel the Beach Blast Off Fireworks event.
They decided out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of everyone involved in the event that it was best to not host the annual event this year.
Mayor, Margaret England states “In our continuing effort to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 virus, it is important to avoid very large crowds and be mindful of the safety for all our residents, visitors, staff, and first responders.”
