The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one its sergeants.
According to CCSO, Sergeant Eric Twisdale who joined the sheriff’s office in 1998 and was most recently serving as the supervisor of the Crime Scene Unit has passed away.
The sheriff’s office says they are treating Twisdale’s death as a line of duty death that’s COVID-19 related.

CCSO says during Twisdale’s time at the sheriff’s office he earned a reputation for being courageous and having a huge heart. He earned the agency’s Lifesaving Award in 2014 and was recognized as the Deputy of the Year in 2015.
