JSO: Young man fatally shot in Moncrief area, suspect arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has concluded the murder investigation resulting in the arrest of the suspect responsible.

JSO states that following a detailed investigation, evaluation of available evidence, and the vetting of information that came in from the local community, detectives were able to identify a suspect in this case which quickly led to the arrest of the suspect.

ORIGINAL: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported a teenager that was fatally shot on the 5300 block of Golfbrook Dr.

JSO reports that at around 7:30 p.m. Officer responded to the 5300 block of Golfbrook Dr. in response to a shooting.

When arriving at the scene, Officers found a man aged in his late teens to early 20s suffering from a gunshot wound.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported the victim to a nearby hospital where they later died of their injuries.

There is currently no suspect information at this time.

Homicide Detectives, Crime Scene Detectives, and the Medical Examiner Investigator are on the scene and are completing a detailed investigation. JSO is also working on the scene with the State Attorney’s Office.
