Combing Jack Daniel’s and cola is a barroom staple. Now fans of the cocktail will only have to crack open a can — no mixing required.
Coca-Cola and Jack Daniel’s are teaming up to can a mix of the two drinks, CNN reported.
The new take on the classic adult beverage will be introduced in Mexico later this year and is expected to hit the U.S. in 2023.
Ready-to-drink beverages have been growing in popularity since 2018 and have been competing against beer sales, CNBC reported. Hard seltzers are the largest variety but canned cocktails sales have been increasing, CNBC reported.
There will be the normal Coca-Cola version and one made with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.
The cans will include “clear responsibility symbols” that will indicate that the beverages are made with alcohol. The drinks will have an average of 5% alcohol by volume, depending on the country they’re made for.
This is the latest in hard drinks made by Coca-Cola that the company has been marketing.
The company has already brought out Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and Simply Spiked Lemonade, made under a partnership with Molson Coors, CNN reported.
Coke will also work with Corona brewer Constellation Brands to introduce Fresca Mixed later this year.
Coke rival PepsiCo has also launched alcohol versions of Mountain Dew called Hard Mtn Dew in a partnership with Sam Adams brewer, Boston Beer, CNBC reported.
