Alejandro Zapata-Rebello, 30, was driving an orange Corvette on Interstate 93, WMUR-TV reported.

According to local officials, the speed limit on that section of interstate is 70 mph, the TV station reported.

Zapata-Rebello was charged with two counts of reckless driving and one count of disobeying an officer. Separately, the Woodstock Police Department confirmed to WTNH that they also charged him with reckless driving.

According to the TV station, troopers patrolling I-93 northbound in Ashland, New Hampshire, spotted an orange car that they say was traveling at nearly 161 mph, making it impossible for them to overtake the vehicle.

Instead, troopers issued a Be On the Lookout Order for the vehicle, and within minutes reports began pouring in about sports cars being driven “erratically and at high speeds.” The witnesses stated that the reckless driving nearly caused several wrecks, WTNH reported.

In turn, Woodstock officers, who had heard the BOLO, positioned officers on I-93 to intercept the orange 2021 Chevrolet Corvette at exit 32. The sports car became stuck in traffic, however, and officers detained Zapata-Rebello until troopers arrived, the TV station reported.
